It is important to know that the ranch is located off the power grid, things are a bit "primitive" for some to handle! We certainly do appreciate any help you may want to give to the burros! We recommend that visits be planned between October and May as the summer months are very difficult with the no AC, fly issues and also rattle snakes. It would be a more pleasant experience for you without having to contend with those issues!
Hugs, brushing and carrots are always welcomed if you want to come visit:)
If you do decide to stop by, be sure to give a call/text prior to coming up here! Diana can be reached at 760-384-8523. Just leave a voicemail with you name, number and a good time for her to reach you with a call-back. Texting is more reliable, she is more apt to receive a text message vs a phone call. The signal at the ranch is very "iffy" to say the least!
Finding our place is sometimes a bit tricky. I have added a hand-drawn map of the way here from the main highway (395). See below!
Once again: please call or text ahead of time!
Directions to our sanctuary from the main highway
We have folks asking about an address for anything sent via UPS or FEDX. Since we do not have rural delivery, the RV park in Olancha will accept packages etc. for us. Here is the address to use:
Olancha RV Park
c/o Wild Burro Rescue/Diana Chontos
1075 Highway 395
Olancha, CA 93549
If you plan on sending anything to this address, please let us know so that we can go to pick it up there!

With WBR using a professional fundraiser, we realize that many of you are getting mailers on a more frequent basis. We have NO control over the amount of flyers being mailed out. As a result, we are receiving requests from folks who wish to be removed from the mailing list. I will gladly pass your mailing info on to those in charge of the mailing list. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will forward your contact info from there.
And any other comments or questions, please feel free to send an email this way.
